Engaging the Lymphatic System

We teach a variety of manual lymphatic therapy methods.

Our certification class is unique because we offer perspectives on manual lymphatic training, including the varying treatment techniques and hand techniques taught by the different schools of thought in MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage). Our course director has studied and attended classes in the French Chikly techniques, as well as the Upledger, Vodder, and Földi methods.

Our schedule allows students time for both study and practice.

Our course is offered in sections or all at once; you may choose what fits your schedule and learning style. There is ample time between modules to practice techniques, study, and come to the next module prepared with relevant questions.

Our students get hands-on practice with patients at our Blacksburg, Virginia clinic.

If you take the course in the New River Valley of Virginia, you also have the advantage of hands-on practice with actual patients in our clinics. There is no substitute for practice and feedback from real clients who have experienced MLD, bandaging, understand cancer care, Lupus, Lyme disease, lipedema, and the many other diagnoses you will be studying.

We teach the many indicators for use of lymphatic drainage.

We also study manual lymphatic drainage applications for other health conditions besides lymphedema. We study lymphatic organ drainage and the ways that full-body MLD stimulates the immune system and brings relief to many suffering from autoimmune conditions such as lupus, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia.

Our training program is recognized by national professional organizations.

We are recognized as an MLD/CDT training program by both the National Lymphedema Network and the LANA organization.

Monarch Continuing Education,,  LLC congratulates LANA for achieving ANSI accreditation

In March 2018 The Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) was granted accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) following a thorough and rigorous application process. The relevance of this achievement largely relates to the measure of the quality of the CLT-LANA certification exam which adequately measures the knowledge used in the treatment of lymphedema. Moving forward, program graduates will know that earning the CLT-LANA certification stands as an industry-standard in lymphedema management and will prove a worthwhile pursuit.

The following statements represent the views of ANSI, the stringent examining body that awards an accreditation status to industry-leading credentialing programs:

Makes your CLT mean more…to Potential Students, to Certificate Holders, to Employers, and to Regulators

The American National Standards Institute Certificate Accreditation Program (ANSI-CAP) helps document that your completed program meets an American National Standard for quality.
Students can have confidence that the certificates awarded represent the best in quality education and training.
Employers and Regulators Care about ANSI Accreditation

Several industries and a number of government agencies already require ANSI accredited certifications for their new hires— and many are considering similar requirements for certificates.
Among those that have sought ANSI accreditation for their certificate programs are the U.S. Army, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
The Accreditation Process Assures Program Quality—and Certificate Value

ANSI-CAP is based on an American National Standard, ASTM E2659-09, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs.
The standard requires that your program meets predefined industry requirements for the content, follows predetermined processes, includes constant feedback for quality improvement, and much more.
Accreditation Puts Your Program in front of Your Competition

ANSI accreditation will signify that the certificate holder has completed a prescribed course of study designed specifically to meet predefined industry requirements
Substantiates that your organization has met, and continues to meet, standards for quality improvement. Will your competitors be able to say the same?
Why Choose ANSI Accreditation for Your Certificate Programs?

ANSI accreditation is nationally and internationally recognized as a mark of quality and assures that employers can have confidence that the certificate holder has completed the prescribed course of study.
Your Certificate Program plus ANSI Accreditation—Documenting Excellence in Education and Training

“For too long, tremendous confusion has existed regarding the relative values and differences between various training certificates. ANSI-CAP helps clarify this confusion for consumers and sets a whole new benchmark for employers seeking the best training available.”

– Don Williamson, SCIPP International

“The individuals and agencies we serve can rest assured that their training has been developed and delivered in a professional manner.”

– Chris Moore, National Association of State Boating Law Administrators
